Finding the perfect wedding dress is one thing, and finding the gorgeous wedding hairstyle another. You want to look the best for your very special day and need help to decide what will look best.

Firstly, you should decide how you are going to wear your hair i.e. straight, long, pulled up or down. You must choose a style that will suit the shape of your face. You must also decide if you would be comfortable with your hair pulled up and away from your face. May be you could consider leaving some strands loose in wisps if you are wearing your hair up…. so as to soften the effect on the face.

Choosing the wedding day hairstyles is simply knowing what you know you look good in. Most of my brides are afraid to tell me what they like because they are afraid that they are going to make a wrong decision. So they ask me, the professional. I tell them “I can give you hundreds of beautiful hairstyles, but what do you like?”. I’ve learned to not start styling until my brides tell me what they like and dislike.

For those of us with long hair, it is very precious to us and hopefully most of us keep good care of it with shampoos, conditioners, and special treatments. Although it is harder to take care of than short hair, longer hair offers a variety of lengthened wedding hairstyles to chose from. Long hair styles are just perfect ways to show off your lengthy, beautiful hair especially in you wedding day.

Updo Hairstyles:  Updos are a tricky thing and even most hairstylists are not good at them.  If you plan on dancing at the event, most updos will not survive very long at all. Especially for Prom I suggest to most of my clients that they go with a sexy down style instead. Ultimately they tend to have alot more fun at the dance. Do not wash your hair the day of the event! Shampoos and conditioners make the hair slippery and lead to updo fall out. Make sure you use as many hair pins as possible. The more, the better. Hair is heavy and gravity is persistant. I highly recommend a dry run. Have whoever is doing your hair practice on you a day or two before the event. Your success rate will be much higher.
