enthusiastic_crowd.jpgOkay, you’ve sat at your computer, sometimes for hours. You’ve clicked on those email offers you get; you know the ones….they look like they just might be promising. You click, you read, you get your slightest hope up and Bam!, there it is, $200 (and sometimes more) for the rights to view another web page….or worse yet, you could $40 your way to poor house quick just trying this, then that, then something else right? You pay the low, low price of $19 and all you get is a list of other places to go to and register for other services. And, good grief! All the sites that promise money but you wind up with vouchers for stores you may not ever shop in, or worse yet all you get for your time is a chance to be entered into a sweepstakes. Hear that? A chance to be entered? So you do what so many do every day, you get discouraged, and you get up tomorrow and go back to that job you hate. After all, they’re all scams right?

Well, most are. However, there are legitimate ones out there. Here’s what you’re not going to like to hear; you will have to invest something in the legitimate ones, and you will have to do some work. You will have to learn and apply yourself. We all do this everyday. For bosses we can’t stand, during hours when we’d rather be home or lounging somewhere. We want to work when we want to work, right? Maybe your peak performance time is the evenings, or the early mornings or even late nights. What would happen if you waltzed into work and told your boss that you will no longer work M-F, 8-5; instead you’re going to work what ever days you want and you’ll be in when you feel at your best to perform?

Wouldn’t it be nice? You can, eventually, if you do your homework and apply yourself to the task you choose.

You say, “Great, but what about all the ones that promise I don’t have to do ONE single thing”. Well consider this; when you got your last job (you know, the one you either hate going to every day, or the one that isn’t making enough money to pay the utilities and mortgage and leave you even enough money to go on a cheap trip once in a while), you made some kind of investment?

You may have bought some new clothes, or new paper to print your resume on, extra stamps or new shoes for the interview. Either way, you invested something, and you took some time to do it well. The average Joe or Jane trying to find extra money probably makes $10-12 an hour at a job they could take or leave. It took average Joe 10 days of looking, two interviews and at least 8 hours prep time, right? What was the investment made?

Break it down this way: $10 an hour x 8 hours per day looking for 10 days = $800 + 2 interviews at 1.5 hours each= $830 + 8 hours prep time with buying clothes, printing resume’, etc = $910.00 worth of investment and 91 hours of time put in. Would you agree? If we’re willing to invest that kind of worth into finding a job that we may or may not like in four months, to work for a boss who may or may not be a good one, then why not $30 or even $50 in ourselves.

If this is the kind of time and worth we are putting into finding a job that we may or may not like, will or won’t pay us enough money to live happily, then why won’t we expend out time and energy and yes, even some money, to find what’s profitable for us to do online.? I’ll tell you why….. pessimism. We’re all optimistic about life in general, but very pessimistic when it comes to trusting our money out of our hands. Let’s face it, we’re afraid of our friends and family finding out that we were “scammed” online.

The truth is in front of your face, just learn to look at it differently. You know a scam when you see one, you’re smart enough to refrain from hitting the “submit” button when you don’t see a secure pay window, you’re smart enough to check your bank account for duplicate or suspicious charges and you’re smart enough to never give out your social security number. You’re the one that’s holding you back, really. It’s your fear of what people will say, it’s your fear of what you might loose, it’s your fear of what you might not find, it’s your fear of being disappointed.

Get over it. Be as smart as you are. You’ve seen things that your mind and heart has told you will work. So research it, test the waters and invest a little bit in yourself for a change. If you’ve done you’re homework, then chances are you’ve chosen a venture that will offer you your money back and if it doesn’t work out, you’ve lost only a little bit of your time and energy. Get out there on the internet money highway and take a chance.
