“Love handles” is an endearing term to describe excessive fat. This fat accumulates around the lower abdomen. While often people approach this issue for vanity reasons it is worthwhile noting that this is also a serious health problem. Obesity in America is at an all time high.

In the case of love handles fat accumulates around both sides of the waist. This in general terms is an indication of a poor diet. Based on this it is time to address the issue head on. While there are many convenient and quick solutions been promoted to combat this problem both online and offline - it is wise to sit back and understand that there are many factors at play which are causing this problem for you.

No one denies that the quick easy solutions are very desirable but I think you are smart enough to figure out that you will need to take a serious look at your lifestyle.

The first thing to examine is what you eat. The notion of diet can be a troubling one for many people, including myself. However what I found was that you do not necessarily need to curtail food you just need to start to understand what you are eating. When you really get a grip on what you are putting into your body you start to naturally change your diet.

We all talk about the necessity of a good education. Often times I wonder if we really understand what we mean by that. An education is imperative to intelligent behavior. If you understand the dangers of eating poorly then no one will need to tell you what to do. You will have the smarts to take action by yourself.

So it’s not about dieting as such. It is more about eating healthy. Couple that with an effective workout program and you will be well on the way to having a healthy lean body.

I could talk about eating a healthy balanced nutritional diet but what’s more important is for you start to understand what you are doing in your daily life that is contributing to excessive fat.

Start to write down what you eat. Note on a day to day basis how much exercise you get. Put that miracle between your ears to work. Write down active things you enjoy doing, such as walking, biking etc. This will enable you to actually see what is taking place in your life.

Now while all this may seem inconvenient at the outset, I think you have enough intelligence to understand that if you become ill then the inconvenience will be far greater than taking the time out to understand what you are actually doing on a day to day basis.
